What is Google Pay UPI ID?
UPI stands for Unified Payments Interface. It is a system of fund transfer in which you can receive and send money using money transfer mobile apps using the customer’s unique UPI ID. Now the question is what is UPI ID? UPI ID means a unique address using which you can send or receive money directly in the bank accounts without knowing the other bank account-related details like Bank Account Number, IFSC Code, etc.
Google Pay UPI ID example
UPI generally consists of two parts separated by the ‘@‘ symbol. The first part contains the name of the user/ Mobile Number of the user or any custom text set by the customer itself and the second part contains the name of the bank (which provides the service of UPI). Hereunder we are mentioning the GPay UPI ID example:

As you can observe in the aforementioned examples of GPay UPI ID Google pay UPI ID ends with oksbi/okaxis/okhdfc/okicici. It does not mean that if you are having accounts in these banks then only you can use this facility of UPI. These are four service providers banks of GPay. So, do not worry about the names of the UPI ID it will be unique and linked with your bank accounts which can be of any bank.
How to Know/Get UPI ID in Google Pay?
- Open the Google Pay application on your mobile phone
- Tap on the Profile icon present at the top right corner of the screen
- On the top of the next opened screen, you can see your mobile number and your GPay UPI ID
- But this is your default bank Google Pay UPI ID
- If you have linked more than one bank account with your GPay account then click on the “Bank Account” option under the “Payment Methods” section
- On the next screen, you will see the list of banks linked with your Google Pay App
- Now click on the bank name to see the GPay UPI ID of the corresponding bank account.
How to Change/Create GPay UPI ID Online?
- Open the Google Pay application on your mobile phone
- Tap on the Profile icon present at the top right corner of the screen
- Now Tap on the Bank Account option
- The list of bank accounts that are linked with your GPay app will appear on the next screen
- Now select the bank for which you want to change or create a new UPI ID
- Click on the “Manage UPI IDs” option
- You will see your default UPI ID with the three other new options to create another UPI ID
- Tap on the add button to change/create your UPI ID
- Your new UPI ID will be added to your Google Pay app
Note:– You can have up to 4 different UPI IDs for a single bank account. It helps to decrease payment failure incidences.
How to Delete UPI ID in Google Pay?
- Open the Google Pay application on your mobile phone
- Tap on the Profile icon present at the top right corner of the screen
- On the top of the next opened screen, you can see your mobile number and your default bank account’s GPay UPI ID
- To deactivate UPI ID in Google Pay click on the “Bank Account” option
- Now you will the bank names of the bank accounts which are linked with Google Pay App
- Then click on the Bank Name whose GPay UPI ID you want to delete
- Click on the “Manage UPI IDs” option
- On the next page, you will see a list of UPI IDs and on the right side of the GPay UPI ID you will see the delete icon (🗑)
- Tap on the icon(🗑) and you can remove UPI ID from google pay easily
